National Side Saddle Show - 2008

Congratulations to all Area 11 members who took part in the National Show. Area 11 riders won 'The Scorers Nightmare' Trophy for the area that averaged the most points during the 3 days of the show. Full results can be found here:

Croeso i'r Side Saddle Association Rhanbarth 11 Safle' We!

In 1974, Janet Macdonald and Valerie Francis wrote a letter to ''Horse & Hound'' hoping to gather a band of like-minded enthusiasts to keep alive a dying art.

From this, the ''Side Saddle Association'' was born and over the years has become respected throughout the UK and abroad, evolving into the Association we know today, with over 1200 members.

85 of these existing members are in Area 11 which covers Gwynydd, Clwyd, Cheshire, North Shropshire and Staffordshire.

Yn 1974, ysgrifennodd Janet Macdonald a Valerie Francis lythyr at gylchgrawn ''Horse & Hound'' yn annogi nifer o bobl brwfrydig o'r un anian i ail sefydlu celfyddid sy'n brysu ddirywid.

Fel canlyniad ganed y Side Saddle Association sydd yn fawr ei pharch ym mhrydain ac hefyd ar y cyfandir gan ddatblygu i mewn i'r Gymdeithas y gwyddom amdani heddiw gyda dros 1200 o aelodau.

Mae 85 o'r aelodau presenmol yn Rhanbarth 11 sy'n cynnwys Gwynedd, Clwyd, Sir Gaer, Gogledd Sir Amwything, a Swydol Stafford.

Stolen Saddles:

4 side saddles and a number of astride saddles were stolen from a yard at Oxborough nr. Stoke Ferry, Norfolk.

The side saddles are as follows:

A refurbished Owen 15 1/2" on a wykham pad, serial number, 10264.

A pilch saddle serial number, RJ2046B.

A Champion and Wilton 17" with a new leaping head.

A Victorian reversible saddle still with a serge lining.
